Ripper Roo

  • Species: Kangaroo (Macropus)
  • Gender: Male
  • Alignment: Evil

Dr. RooRipper Roo (sometimes known as Dr. Roo) was the first of Cortex's mutations, and therefore, his least successful one. Crazy, insane, not-all-there, Ripper Roo's behaviour is unpredictable and he is almost always laughing, sometimes even conjugating that into a form of speech.

Though Ripper Roo is always wearing a straitjacket, his razor-sharp toe nails, combined with his tendency to jump around madly, make him a dangerous enemy. After intense therapy, Ripper Roo became calmer and more sophisticated, becoming fascinated with books and scientific formulas. He quickly reverts to his predominant lunatic self, especially when he's caught in an explosion.

Note: Ripper Roo was intended to speak properly in Crash Team Racing, but the developers decided against it and made him speak through laughter with subtitles. However, he does speak properly in Japan. The dialogue with the proper English speech is still present in the Crash Team Racing disc, but is not used in the game proper.

CTR (In-Kart)

All in-kart models are much more polygonal versions than usual, since 8 of the usual character models on screen at the same time would be more than the PlayStation could handle.

Character Model

Crash Bash

A model that is pretty close to Crash Bandicoot 2's first form, but with less detail and a still face.

Character Model

Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D

Dear Ripper Roo, how do you drive with boxing gloves on your hands? This time Ripper Roo looks completely different from usual. His ears are longer and upstraight and he has a much longer snout. Instead of the usual straitjacket, he's wearing boxing gloves as mentioned.

The car he drives is the Bad Girl from Crash Tag Team Racing.
