Although the game is old, I still think it is excellent. And I wanted to make a FAQ anyway, so... I hope this guide is helpful. I will try to detail a lot of things in their best. Yeah. Read it. I mean right now. Let's move on shall we? %%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 4: Story@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Crash thinks he's finally gotten the peace and quiet he deserves... WRONG! A grumpy alien named Nitrous Oxide has come to earth to race. A twisted game he likes to call "Survival of The Fastest". He wants to race the best racer on earth to race. If s/he wins, N. Oxide will leave the planet alone. But if he wins? He's gonna turn the whole planet into a parking lot! And worse, he's gonna make us his slaves! Crash himself, some friends and some foes think they are the best driver on earth. But the question remains... Who will get all the trophies and become the world champion? It's up to you to decide! %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 5: Controls@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Yep, this is where the controls go. For those of you who don't have a instruction booklet (or too lazy to read it) can look here for the controls you need to know. Left/Right Button/ Left analog stick - Steer X Button/Push Right Analog Stick UP - Accelerate Circle Button - Use Weapon/Speed up weapon choosing process Circle Button while at full halt/Right Analog Stick DOWN - Reverse Square Button - Brake Triangle Button - Toggle map/speedometer R1 Button - Hop L1 Button - See "Basics" R2 Button - Back View L2 Button - Toggle Close up/Zoom Out %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 6: Basics@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Yup, more stuff, whoopee. This is where you read the basics. You can't become a successful racer without these! ~Crates~ Bouncy Crate - A crate with stripes on its sides (for those of those who would like to argue about this, fine, a crate with "no" markings on its sides). Gives you Wumpa Fruit. ? Crate - A crate with a ? on it. Smash it to get a random weapon. Time Crate - A yellow crate with a red 1, 2 or 3 on it. Smash it to stop the clock on relic races for a certain number of seconds that is painted on the crate. If you smash all of them, you get a perfect bonus of 10 seconds off your time! Nice for getting gold or platinum relics. ~Items~ Wumpa Fruit - You know what it looks like. C'mon, don't tell me you don't. You can get these from smashing Bouncy Crates, but there are stray ones that can be found on some tracks. Get 10 of these, and you get 'juiced up'... Which means your kart goes a bit faster and your weapons become better. Watch out, if you fall/get hit/get eaten you lose some Wumpa fruit. Trophy - What you get for winning a race in first place. There are 16 of them. You need 4 of them from a hub to race the boss. You need all of them to race Oxide. Boss Key - What you get for beating a boss. You need all 4 of them to race Oxide. CTR Token - Red, Blue, Yellow and Green tokens can be gotten by racing through a track, finding the letters C, T and R, and winning in first place. Purple ones must be gotten from the arenas. Get all 20 Crystals scattered around before the time runs out to get the token. You must get 4 of each color token to unlock a Gem Cup. Gem Cups pit you in 4 races with no restart, you must have the most points at the end to win. To get points it depends on your rank: First - 9 Points Second - 6 Points Third - 3 Points Fourth- 1 Point 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th - ZERO Get the most points to win a gem and unlock a new character. Relic - What you get for getting a low enough time in relic races. They have different ranks, Sapphire, Gold and Platinum. You get them from getting a good enough time. Worse to best times respectively. You need all 18 of them to get the real ending. Gem - What you get from beating a Gem Cup. You need all 5 of them to unlock Turbo Track. ~Moves~ Start Boost- When beginning a race, you can get a boost as soon as it starts. Press X while the light is still there and you will notice your exhaust turns black after a while. If you make it turn black just as the race begins you get a boost. You can get a nice lead if you do this. Powerslide- Press and hold R1 while turning hard. Don't overdo it though, you will spin out if you do, losing a Wumpa Fruit. If you hit a wall you will lose the powerslide. Powerslide Boost- While powersliding, wait for your exhaust (the smoke coming out of your exhaust pipes) to turn black, or, wait for the bar under your map/speedometer to turn red. When it does, press L1 to get a boost. You can do more than one boost though. Hold the powerslide and just wait again for your exhaust to turn black, boost again, and hold once again, and boost when the exhaust turns black again. 3 boosts in one. K w00t. Oh, and the last boost holds more turbo in it. Remember that. Hang Time Boost- If you jump into the air, and stay in the air for a long time, when you land you can get a boost. But it only works if you jump. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 7: Racers and Their Stats@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% More filler. Yay. This part is where I talk about the good and bad points about each racer, some history, and the stats. Choose wisely! You'll be stuck with one for all adventure mode. Oh, this is my opinion on the characters stats, so don't argue with me. ~Crash Bandicoot~ "Whoa!" Our main hero. No, he's not a fox or a dog. He's always been on the good side. He's been in all Crash games up to now. He's not a bad racer though he has good, rounded stats. Nice for beginners. Speed: 3/5 Acceleration: 3/5 Turning: 3/5 ~Dr. Neo Cortex~ "Time to win!" The main antagonist, the creator of Crash Bandicoot himself. Stupid Cortex, not realizing that he made his worst enemy :P In the first game, he tried to take over the world using evolved animals. Crash stopped him and saved his girlfriend. In the second, he tricks Crash into getting the crystals for him. Crash stopped him. In the third, He, with his boss the great Uka Uka, tried to use a time machine to take the crystals from their original locations. Guess what? Crash stopped him too! He has the same stats as Crash. Also nice for beginners. Speed: 3/5 Acceleration: 3/5 Turning: 3/5 ~Coco Bandicoot~ "Bandicoot Power!" Crash's sister, computer genius. She is very smart and a whiz at computers. She appeared in the second Crash, and would rudely ask Crash to get a new battery for her laptop. That's how the adventure started. But, I’m still annoyed as why did they make her mute in Crash 3. Any way, she has nice acceleration, and average in everything else. Another nice choice for you beginners. Speed: 3/5 Acceleration: 5/5 Turning: 3/5 ~Dr. N. Gin~ "This is MINE!" My personal favorite, N. Gin's kinda gotten crazy from that missile in his head. He is Cortex's right hand man and a robotic genius. He was in Crash 2, where you would fight his giant robot by throwing Wumpa Fruit at it. In Crash 3, you fought him as Coco, and in space. He has the same stats as Coco, but I usually choose him for his less irritating and robotic voice. Speed: 3/5 Acceleration: 5/5 Turning: 3/5 ~Tiny Tiger~ "Tiny squash puny kart!" Tiny not Tiny. Tiny in Crash 2 on side of N. Brio. Try stop Crash from getting pretty Crystals. In Crash 3, Tiny on side of Cortex in gladiator arena. Tiny try stop Crash, but lose. Tiny no stripes for some reason. Tiny fast. Tiny very fast. Tiny win race. Tiny have bad turning though. Use Tiny good to zoom fast and get sparkling trophy. Speed: 5/5 Acceleration: 4/5 Turning: 1/5 ~Dingodile~ "Wow, baby!" Dingodile is a weird mix of Dingo and Crocodile. He has a flamethrower and ain't shy of using it. He was in Crash 3 where he would attack you in the ice ages. Same stats as Tiny. Go figure. Speed: 5/5 Acceleration: 4/5 Turning: 1/5 ~Polar~ "GRRRRR!" Polar is a cute little polar bear that Crash would ride on in Crash 2. In Crash 3, the only role he has was in the intro. Slow, but with excellent turning. Still very slow. Speed: 2/5 Acceleration: 2/5 Turning: 5/5 ~Pura~ "Meow Meow!" Pura is a cute little tiger cub. But he looks like a cute kitten. Coco rode on him in Crash 3 during Chinese stages. Same as Polar. Yeah. Speed: 2/5 Acceleration: 2/5 Turning: 5/5 WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING At this part, I will talk about the secret racers. If you do NOT want to know their stats, or get spoiled, move to the next section. ~Ripper Roo~ "Hahahahaha!" One of Cortex's first evolved animals. He got as crazy as a... crazy thing. I still wonder where he got that blue fur. He's the first boss in this game. In Crash 1 and 2, TNT's where is prized weapon, and would constantly use them. You had to use them against him to beat him. He has a nice laugh. Anyway, he has good turning and average in everything else. Unlocked by beating the Red Gem Cup. Speed: 3/5 Acceleration: 3/5 Turning: 5/5 ~Papu Papu~ "He he he he..." The big fat leader of a native tribe. His name supposedly means in tribeslanguage "Pass me that plate again, mate." He doesn't care about his village and the only things he does is eat and sleep, and perhaps kart-race. In Crash 1, Crash would wake him up and attack him, annoyed. Here, he has the same stats as Tiny or Dingodile, but with a little better turning. Unlocked by beating the Green Gem Cup. Speed: 5/5 Acceleration: 4/5 Turning: 2/5 ~Komodo Joe~ "Ssssucker!" The taller and thinner of the Komodo Brothers. Komodo Joe doesn't seem to be with his brother anymore. And he can also speak now! In the Second Crash, he and his brother would attack Crash, with K. Joe being a spinning top. He has nice rounded stats that are a bit higher than Crash or Cortex. Unlocked by beating the Blue Gem Cup. Speed: 4/5 Acceleration: 4/5 Turning: 4/5 ~Pinstripe Potoroo~ "Yeah, right!" Looking at Pinstripe, you can always guess he's a gangster. Accent, gun and clothing support his gangster style. In the first game, he would attacks you in his office in the sewers, more gangster like stuff. He has nice acceleration and average everything else. Unlocked by beating the Yellow Gem Cup. Speed: 3/5 Acceleration: 5/5 Turning: 3/5 ~Fake Crash~ "Huh ho huh huh huh huh huh huh!" A weird Crash copy with large eyebrows and teeth. He was in Crash 3 and would only appear in certain levels when you got the max percentage. He has a bit higher stats than Crash or Cortex. Unlocked by beating the Purple Gem Cup. Speed: 4/5 Acceleration: 4/5 Turning: 4/5 ~Dr. Nefarious Tropy~ "Yes!" Dr. N. Tropy, the self-proclaimed master of time and quantum physics. He was the one who helped Cortex and Uka Uka out in the third Crash. He was the one who built the Time Twister to get the crystals and the gems. N. Tropy has very good stats, with nice speed and pretty good turning. Unlocked by beating all his ghosts in time trial mode. Speed: 5/5 Acceleration: 4/5 Turning: 3/5 ~Penta Penguin~ "(Insert strange slaughtered pig sound here)" Uh... Penta is a penguin. We can't be sure he was in other Crash games, because we couldn't tell. He's very small. He has the same stats as Polar and Pura. Unlocked by code only. Speed: 2/5 Acceleration: 2/5 Turning: 5/5 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 8: Weapons@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Yup. even more filler! This part is when I talk about the weapons, what they do, and what happeneds when juiced up. Homing Missile A missile that, when shot out, homes in on the nearest racer and puts them in a tumbling crash! If you are being followed by one of these babies, a crosshair will be behind you, and arrows will come closer or farther from the center depending how close it is. If you shoot this while no ones around, it'll run into a wall. You can stop a missile by dropping something behind you. You can sometimes get 3 of these at the same time. Juiced Up The missile tracks faster and quicker! And it stops crashing into walls often. Bowling Bomb Shoot this bomb and it'll roll into that direction until it hits something. You can shoot this behind you by holding down and then the circle button. You can also prematurely explode it by pressing the circle button while it is rolling, if your good at aim, you can crash more than one racer at once! You can sometimes get 3 of these at the same time. Juiced Up It now has a larger blast radius. Power Shield Use this, and a green shield appears around you. When you get hit, you lose the shield. Beware, it'll go away after a few seconds. You can also shoot the shield like a bomb by pressing the circle button while it's active. Juiced Up Now the shield turns blue, meaning it'll stay forever until you get hit, or throw it away. TNT/NITRO Drop the TNT behind you, and when someone runs into it, including you, gets it on there head, and after a short countdown, explodes! If you get it stuck on your head, just keep hopping to shake it off. Oh, and if you hit a wall/other TNT with a TNT on your head, it will explode. Juiced Up The crate is a NITRO now, and anyone who hits this gets blown up as soon as he hits it. Beakers The beaker is green here. Drop it behind you, or shoot it ahead by pressing UP and the circle button. When someone hits this, they get in a spinout. Ouch! Juiced Up Gah, it stinks to be hit by one of these red beakers. When you hit it, you spinout, a raincloud appears over you for a bit, slowing you down, your turning gets off, and it changes your weapon if you have one. Gah. Invincibility Mask Use this and Aku Aku(Good Side) or Uka Uka(Bad Side) will circle around you for a bit. You are now invincible to everything except falling and water. Also, you get a slight speed boost while your mask is active. He stays for a few seconds. Juiced Up He stays longer and you go faster a bit. Turbo Booster Use this to get a speed boost. Heh. Juiced up Bigger speed boost. Heh. N. Tropy's Clocks Use it and every racer, 'cept you, will spinout and get slowed down for a few seconds. Juiced up Lasts even longer. Whoopee. Warp Orbs Shoot this, and it'll track the player in first place, and stop at nothing until it hits its target. Anyone in its path will crash. When it hits its target, s/he crashes too. Juiced Up It will stop at nothing and hit EVERYONE ahead of you until it hits the first placer. Whoa. The following weapons are in battle mode only: Giga Booster Constant speed boost. Whoopee. Juiced up Even more constant speed boost. Invisibility Use this to become invisible; what YOU can see is your wheels only, everyone else sees nothing. Missiles can't track you too, yay. But, you can still get hit by bowling bombs and other stuff. Oh, and don't boost, your enemies will see you. Juiced up Invisible for even longer. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9: Walkthrough@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% This is the part of the FAQ that has the most filler...er...stuff. I will first give an introduction to the race. The shortcuts. Relic Times and then the CTR challenge. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.1: Hub 1: N. Sanity Beach@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Ah, yes, N. Sanity Beach. A nice sunny hub. Would you like to start a game anywhere else? What? You do? Get outta here. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Wait for Aku or Uka to say something. When you gain control again, to your back left is the door to Gemstone Valley. And to your right you will see Skull Rock and the Winners Circle. Up ahead is Crash Cove. Go right and on the dock you will see Roo's Tubes. Keep going and you will get to Mystery Caves. Directly opposite it, Ripper Roo's Challenge. Keep going right and find the load/save screen. Keep going and find Sewer Speedway. Keep going and find the door to Glacier Park. After that, go right and you will be back at the start. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.1.1: Crash Cove@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: Already Open Ah, yes. Crash Cove is a nice sunny race track on, well, Crash's Cove. Use ramps and stuff to your benefit and try to leave power ups (NITRO's or green beakers) at the speedup pads near the end. SHORTCUTS: After the first ramp, there is a pool of water that you can drive into. While in it, turn towards a small cliff on your left. Drive towards it, and before you reach the end of the pool, jump. You will get catapulted onto the cliff. This shortcut may require an Turbo or a Mask, but you can do without. While on it, you will save some time and get a ? Crate too. But don't go towards the bridge that goes to the pirate ship. You'll waste your time. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 32 Sapphire: 1:17:00 Gold: 1:05:00 Platinum: 0:52:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Red C: Near the end, get on the wrecked pirate ship and you will see the C floating in mid-air near the ? Crate on it. Jump off to get it. T: Use the shortcut, and go ONTO the bridge to the pirate ship. You will see the T in mid-air on your right. Jump down and get it. R: At the start, take the right path when you get to the first fork When you are about to get out, turn sharply to the left, hugging the edge of the rock, to find the R. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.1.2: Roo's Tubes@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you Need: Open already. ROO'S TUBES! Roo's Tubes is an underwater circuit with underwater tubes that you race in. There are also underwater caves so you don’t end up in a whole underwater tube. It is shaped in an 8. It also has a lot more speedup pads and jumps. Pay attention, you are racing Ripper Roo here. SHORTCUTS: When you come out of the third tube. Don't take the path that goes into the whale bones. Instead, turn sharply left. You will be on a sandy track that slows you down. It only works if you boost, or have a mask. That way you can speed through and not waste any time. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 32 Sapphire: 1:15:00 Gold: 1:10:00 Platinum: 0:55:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Green C: When you exit the first tube, there will be a small hill. In mid-air behind the hill, is the C, off to the left. Jump off the top of the hill to get it. T: Use the shortcut, and near the finish line, you will find the T. R: After the second tube, another hill, letter in mid-air, you know what to do. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.1.3: Mystery Caves@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you Need: 1 Trophy A fun track. you are in a cave of MYSTERY. Lame, I know. Anyway, there are turtles in the water here, really BIG turtles. They alternate going up and down. Go into the one that is up to get thrown into the air, and when you land, a speed boost. Also, once you get to the big jumps, go to the opposite side that you see a fireball so you don't become a fried bandicoot/tiger/man/dingo crocodile/polar bear/cyborg. If you go into the side where a fireball just went down, and you won't get burned. SHORTCUTS: Immediately after the first set of turtles, turn sharply left, and you will be on a rocky track similar to Roo's Tubes. Speed through for a few seconds off your time. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 40 Sapphire: 1:55:00 Gold: 1:44:00 Platinum: 1:32:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Red C: On the second jump on the part of the track with fireballs. Jump to the right to grab the C. Just be careful not to get fried. T: After the fireballs. You will go uphill, go through a cave, come to two pools one after another with turtles in them, then some ? crates. You can easily see the T behind the leftmost one. So what are you waiting for? Get it! R: On the first set of turtles. You will see the R in midair in between them. Jump on the one that is up and quickly nab the R. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.1.4: Sewer Speedway@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 3 Trophies One of my favorites. Sewer Speedway is a dirty little track with rolling toxic barrels in the halfpipe part of the track. Just be wary of the stray toxic barrel in the pipe. This track holds the hardest shortcut of all time. Good luck. SHORTCUTS: After the red pipes, you will go into a halfpipe. Look ahead, high above the right part of the track. It's a square opening in the wall. This is kinda hard. When you see it, go up the left part of the halfpipe and jump off, turn around, and hopefully get a speed boost when you land. Now JUMP off the right part of the halfpipe and you can hopefully get up there. When you do, you will go along hitting a buncha speedup pads and some crates for your troubles, and then go back down. Sorry, but this is hard to explain. Find a strategy for your own if this is hard for you. You need to use this if you want to get all the crates in the Relic Race. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 65 Sapphire: 1:33:00 Gold: 1:05:00 Platinum: 0:37:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Blue C: When you get to the jump that goes into the pipe with the toxic barrel, you will see the C in the air. Jump and get it. T: When you get to the red pipes, take the right pipe. Right when you are about to jump, don't jump into the pipe ahead of you, you must go to the right where the T is. Nab it. Don't worry, you'll land safely. R: At the halfpipe, stay at the left part of the halfpipe to eventually find the R. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.1.5: Ripper Roo's Challenge@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you Need: All four trophies on N. Sanity Beach Track you race on: Roo's Tubes Yawn. Not hard at all. He keeps dropping TNT's behind him(Deja Vu?), but they explode when you pass them. Just keep racing fast and you will beat him. He gives you a Key. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.1.6: Skull Rock@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you Need: 1 Boss Key Time: 1:23:00 Skull Rock is not a race but an arena. Look at CTR tokens to find out about this place. Anyways, the objective is simple, get all 20 crystals before the time expires. Just get boosts from the ? crates here to get a few crystals in the air here and there. Just practice and you will get the token. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.2: Hub 2: The Lost Ruins@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% The Lost Ruins are, well, lost and ruiny. You may or may not find some of the tracks here hard. And, you must race the fattest(no, not fastest) guy in the game. So lets begin, shall we? ------------------------------------------------------------------- Actually, the boss key that Ripper Roo gives opens up Gemstone Valley. I'll give a walkthrough for that place later. Go through until you find the door to the Lost Ruins. When you enter, right ahead you will see the load/save screen. Go up the ramp to your left to find Coco Park. Turn right and go up until you find the Winners Circle. Right next to it, Papu Papu's Challenge. Go forward and turn left to the stone idol to find Papu's Pyramid. Turn the opposite way and go forward to find Dingo Canyon tucked in a corner. Turn left to find the door to Glacier Park and Rampage Ruins. Go down the ramp to your right and turn right again to find Tiger Temple off to the side. Keep going, turning right and going down the ramp to reach where you started. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.2.1: Coco Park@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: Already open. AHHHHH. This is the first track I lost in! Because, halfway through, I fell asleep on the X button on my controller. Really, it's that boring. Coco Park is like a normal race track with Coco-ness in it. No big turns, no jumps, not even a shortcut. Oh, and this track has three speedup pads. Watch them, they are really easy to miss. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 40 Sapphire: 1:35:00 Gold: 1:12:00 Platinum: 0:49:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Green C: Right at the start, you will see the C right in front of a stone block with a purple tree on it, on the left. Nab it, but don't hit the stone block. T: When you enter the tunnel, stay right. When you exit, you will nab the T. R: Right hear the end, possibly the only hill in the level, or the second speedup pad. You will see the R floating in midair on the left side of the track on the grass. You can use the speedup pad to boost you so you can reach it, since grass slows you down. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.2.2: Tiger Temple@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: Opened already. A better course that before. Tiger Temple is a rainy ruin level. Watch out for those fire-spitting statues in the temple, and you should do fine. SHORTCUTS: When you come out of the first temple with 2 fire-spitting statues, look to the left and eventually you will see a giant stone idol with giant teeth. You can open it, but you must use a weapon, like: Missile: Shoot at the teeth(hard). Bomb: Shoot at the teeth(easier). Beaker: Shoot at the teeth(Up and Circle) Shield: Shoot at the teeth, driving into it does not work. Mask: Drive up to the door. When you open it, you will go through a small tunnel packed with bouncy crates and come out the other side. This tunnel is already open in the Relic Race. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 52 Sapphire: 1:20:00 Gold: 1:02:00 Platinum: 0:43:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Blue C: When you come to the second ramp, you must jump off it to nab the C floating in the air. T: Near when you start, to your left is some grass and the T. Do I still need to tell you what to do? R: Use the shortcut, and make sure you jump right when you are about to come out to nab the R in midair. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.2.3: Papu's Pyramid@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 6 Trophies Yup, another of my favorites. Papu's Pyramid is a ruiny level with serious plant problems. Watch out for the pyramid at the start. The trick is to take these turns hard by powersliding. Oh, and don't go into those purple plants path when they are reared back, or you'll regret it. And remember, your racing Papu Papu here, but with three shortcuts, I don't think you should worry that much. SHORTCUTS: -When you get to the top of the pyramid, go through the plants and eventually you will see the road curves to the right with arrows on pointing the right way. You will notice there is a gap between those arrows. Work up some speed, and when your brave enough jump through the gap. If you got some good speed you will land on top of a pillar with Papu's face on it. Jump off again and land on the track to get a big lead. -To take this shortcut, you must ignore the first shortcut. The first shortcut is faster, but this one is much easier to do. Right, when you take the right turn, not the shortcut, you will eventually come upon a speedup pad to the right and a few "steps" leading down where two plants reside. You will see a ledge to the extreme left. You can build up some speed and jump onto it. You will get three wumpa fruit, if you grab them, jump down to near the start of the track, smash a bouncy box and jump down again to the main track. -This one is very hard, but if you keep practicing it, you'll get it. After shortcut 2, really build up your speed or use a power up. You will get to a ramp, and when you jump off it, you will get to a sharp turn. Now, why don't you just use the ramp to avoid the turn? When you get to the ramp, look to the right and you will see the end of the sharp turn going downhill. If your really fast, you can jump off the ramp and land on that part of the track. But don't expect to get it on your first try... Not to be attempted by a beginner. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 48 Sapphire: 1:34:00 Gold: 1:09:00 Platinum: 0:42:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Red C: Take the first shortcut. It's on the left side of the pillar. T: Take the second shortcut. Jump before you jump down to nab the T. R: After the second shortcut, don't use the shortcut right after that. Take the sharp turn and hug the right wall. You should nab the R. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.2.4: Dingo Canyon@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 7 Trophies Dingo Canyon is a pretty straightforward track. It's a desert with a few parts of the road submerged in a few inches of water. Watch out for the armadillos rolling around here. When you get to the fork, the right path has a bouncy crate, while the left is faster, you're the one to choose. Also, leave stuff near the jump near the end of the track. Oh, and don't forget to jump before going onto the raised parts of road in the water section, you can get thrown into the air, and land to get a boost. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 38 Sapphire: 1:25:00 Gold: 1:09:00 Platinum: 0:53:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Yellow C: Right at the start, go onto the sand on the right side of the track to find the C next to the cactus. T: When you get to the fork, take the right and when you are about to get out, turn sharply left, hugging the side of the rock, to nab the T. R: Near the end, at the big jump, you will see the R floating in midair off to the right. Jump and grab it. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.2.5: Papu Papu's Challenge@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: All 4 trophies in The Lost Ruins Track you race on: Papu's Pyramid Although he is big and fat(no, not fast), he is pretty easy to beat. He drops green and red beakers, so be careful. Just don't hit the red beakers if you have a surprise for him. Take advantage of the parts of the track where he doesn't drop the beakers, and you should win. He's not that much different from Ripper Roo though. Although he is fatter(no, not faster). Take the key he gives you. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.2.6: Rampage Ruins@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 2 Boss Keys Time: 1:25:00 Yup, another arena. This time there are TNT's to hinder your attempt. The ? crates give boosts again. Be sure to look around carefully as to not miss a crystal. And remember, DON'T HIT A WALL WITH A TNT ON YO HEAD. Thank you. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.3: Hub 3: Glacier Park@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% We've been to ruins and onto islands. What’s next? You guessed it, Ice! Glacier Park is a nice frozen hub with only a few troubles that the tracks may give. Also, if your scared of lizards, turn back now. I don't think you can stand RACING one! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Awight! The door of The Lost Ruins should be behind you when you enter. To your left is Blizzard Bluff. Keep going and on your right is Dragon Mines.A little ways ahead, you will find an igloo. Drive inside and find Tiny Arena. Keep moving, and to your right will be Komodo Joe's Challenge, and a ways ahead, the Winners Circle. To the left is Rocky Road. Keep going an you will find the load/save screen, and the door to Citadel City. Turn left to find two bridges, the left one going to Polar Pass. And the right one going to the door to N. Sanity Beach. Go back to the start and take the only active warp pad. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.3.1: Blizzard Bluff@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you Need: Open Already A pretty simple track. Blizzard Bluff is a snowy area with a big ol' boulder. It also has scenic frozen lakes and pine trees. Watch out for the boulder, as there is a speedup pad right before it, and you don't want to hit that thing when it's in your path, or SMOOSH! Be sure to keep your control on the frozen lakes, which is no problem, actually. Oh, and watch out, this track has a tough shortcut. The second one anyway. SHORTCUTS: -Right at the start, there is a huge rock to your left. Turn into it an you will see a space in the rock. You must boost or use a mask here because there is snow here that slows you down. But then again, it is short, so you may not. Go through and cut the first turn, saving time. -On the first frozen lake, turn to your left to find a snowy ramp. It does not slow you down. Now, this is where it gets hard. Boost REALLY good, or use a mask, and take a leap of faith. If you jumped real good, you'll sail over the river and land on the other side, saving a lot of time. Not to mention a lead. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 40 Sapphire: 1:40:00 Gold: 1:08:00 Platinum: 0:45:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Red C: Near the end, on the frozen lake. On the right, on the snow, is the C. T: Near your first jump down, stay to the right, on the snow. Make sure you jump to nab the T in the air. R: Very near the second speedup pad. You must take the turn before it really hard, hugging the left wall, to get it. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.3.2: Dragon Mines@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 9 Trophies A little hard track. But once you get used to it, it's no problem. Dragon Mines is a bluish mine with machinery and mine carts, and lava. What are they mining anyway? Naughty Dog only knows. Anyway, be sure to watch out when a mine cart crosses your path. Just watch the tracks. And, watch out for the wooden brigde near the end that is a tight coil. You can't take these turns too hard, or you'll fall into the lava. SHORTCUTS: -After a while, you will get into a tunnel lighted by red lights. When you get out, you will go into a huge cavern. In here, there is the main road to the right, with a bouncy crate on it. And to the left, a pool of water. You can jump into the pool of water and cut through the turn. Just don't go too far in, or you'll drown. -When you get to the first mine cart tracks, turn to the right and go into the cave where the mine carts go. The tracks slow you down, and you will get crushed a lot by the mine carts, but a mask can do perfectly. When you come out of the cave, you can jump down onto the wooden bridge to your left, or you can keep going until you get onto where the wooden bridge ends. Your pick. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 39 Sapphire: 1:28:00 Gold: 1:11:00 Platinum: 0:54:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Blue C: Take shortcut 1. Very easy. T: While on the wooden bridge. Near the end of it, you will see the T off to the right. Jump down to get it, and quickly race up the wooden bridge again. R: Right after the wooden bridge, you will see 4 ? Crates in a row. Hit the second one from the left, and go forward a bit, to nab the R between support beams. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.3.3: Polar Pass@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 10 Trophies My favorite track. Polar Pass is a frozen wasteland of a track, with terrible animal control problems. Because there are seals running wild here. When you hit them, you spin out, so watch for them. With frozen lakes returning from Blizzard Bluff and... stuff, Polar Pass is a very fun track to race in. SHORTCUTS: -When you come to the part of the track that forks and forks after the first fork merges(it looks like an 8 on the map). Take the right path first. When it merges, take the right path. This saves time, and is very easy. -When you enter the cavern(the one after the jumps and the very thin piece of track that is a mix of bridge and snow), go through the ? crates, the 2 bouncy crates that are on the sides of the track. Now, you will go downhill, then go uphill, and meet two seals. Ahead, you will see a wall with arrows on them. Also take note of the boxes up there. Technical problem? I don't think so. Now, you would normally take a sharp turn around that wall. Why can't you just jump over it? There is a bump where the uphill section ends abruptly, right after the two seals. Just avoid the seals while speeding up, and jump over the wall to get a lead, and a lot of time off your hands. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 38 Sapphire: 3:00:00 Gold: 2:33:00 Platinum: 2:05:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Green C: When you get to the part of the track shaped like an 8, take either path. When the road merges, right inbetween the next fork is the C, right in front of the iceberg. T: At the big jump near the end, just jump and position yourself to nab the T. R: At the first jumps. After jumping for 2 times, jump from the third one and move yourself to the right to nab the R. Be careful, even though you land safely on the track, you may not be able to turn very quickly and therefore, fall off. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.3.4: Tiny Arena@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 11 Trophies First of all, Tiny Arena: Not so tiny. Tiny Arena is a bumpy, muddy track in an arena. This is the longest track in the game. If you get stuck in the mud, just keep hopping to get out. There really isn't all much to say about Tiny Arena, except it has no shortcut. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 60 Sapphire: 3:45:00 Gold: 3:22:00 Platinum: 2:58:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Yellow C: Right after the first bridge, there is a big spotta mud in the middle of the track. Go to either side of it to avoid it. After that, there will be a spot of mud to the right of the track. To the left of that, is C. T: Near the start, after the first set of ? crates. After you go past them, you will turn right and come to two small hills next to each other. Inbetween them is the T. Jump of either hill and jump towards it to gain a letter for your token. R: Right after getting C, you will go into a sharp turn. After the turn, there will be a hill with the R in mid-air after it. You know what to do. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.3.5: Komodo Joe's Challenge@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: All 4 trophies of Glacier Park. Track you race on: Dragon Mines Alright! This is where bosses get hard, and K. Joe is no exception. This lizard throws TNT behind him, and the minute they hit the ground, kaboom! Don't hit them when they hit the ground, and make sure you stay far away from them to avoid the blast. He throws them far behind him, but don't think staying very close behind him wil work, because he occasionally drops one, only one, NITRO behind him, spoiling you up. Take advantage of the parts of the track where he doesn't attack, and blast him with a missle. But the only part of the track where he doesn't drop his explosives is the wooden bridge, so this may be tough. Just keep in front of him after hitting him, and drop anything you can and you will win. Take the key, but not after he blames you in advance. Show him he's wrong and continue your quest. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.3.6: Rocky Road@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 3 Boss Keys Time: 1:20:00 Some people find this arena hard. I didn't. Okay, now instead of TNT's, NITRO's block the crystals in this place. The crates you break open hold bowling bombs, but try not to waste your time ALWAYS getting one, because you can simply drive around NITRO's in your path and get the crystal they guard. Try getting all crystals in the outer ring, then drop down and quickly nab the crystals there, and go up to the center and nab those crystals. Watch carefully to make sure you don't forget a crystal and you should be fine. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.4: Hub 4: Citadel City@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Okay, this place is neither a citadel OR a city. Citadel City is a spacious castle that holds some of the hardest tracks in the game. From racing in air to racing in space, this place is where some of the more "fun" tracks are. Just don't be surprised if you find a gangster marsupial here. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, you should enter this hub via Glacier Park. In front of you is a ramp that goes up to the load/save screen. On either side of the ramp is an opening. I always take the left one first. Go down until you reach an industrial environment with the portal to N. Gin Labs. Head left and keep moving until you come to a room with stain-glass windows(take note they have pictures of Crash 3's bosses on them) and chandeliers, and Cortex Castle. Get moving and go up the road, and you will emerge in bright sunlight and next to the Winner's Circle. Keep going to find, imbedded in the wall to the right, Pinstripe's Challenge. Move and you have a choice of going left or right. Left leads to Hot Air Skyway, while going right goes into a hallway. Keep going and you will see an opening to your right, the one next to the ramp that goes into the load/save screen. To your left is Nitro Court tucked away in the wall. Keep going forward and find a big green room with Oxide Station. Now that we're done, lets go back to one of the active portals. I first chose Cortex Catsle, so that'll be first in the walkthrough. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.4.1: Cortex Castle@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you Need: Open Already It's... a castle. There are lots of 90 degree turns so watch out. Also, Cortex doesn't seem to be a good housekeeper, because of the many spiders strewn about here. They stay up in the roof, and come down in timed intervals of up and down. Just stay away from thier shadows, that's where they land. Just don't drive into the shadows unless you're sure it's ABSOLUTELY safe. Also, when you get to the fork, the right path has a bouncy crate, while the left one is faster. Good luck... SHORTCUTS: -When you get onto the roof of the castle, the place with the two turrets, eventually, you will find a speedup pad. A ways after that are 3 GIGANTIC steps leading down packed with bouncy crates. Here's a little shortcut I found, hit the speedup pad, and jump as soon as you reach the top of the first step. If you're real fast and a good timer at jumping, you can jump down all the steps in one shot. Shaves a few seconds off your time. For best results, try staying as CLOSE as possible to the turret to the left while jumping, but not to close, as to impede your jump. -After shortcut 1, you will go through a few turns, and go into a room with blue stain-glass windows with pictures of Cortex on them. There's a ramp going into the room, and when you enter you 'may' notice a wooden ramp to the left. Build up speed, and when you enter the room, jump off the ramp and jump onto the wooden ramp to the left. This cuts off a few seconds, and you don't have to go through those turns. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 62 Sapphire: 2:35:00 Gold: 2:04:00 Platinum: 1:34:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Green C: After the fork, going into a room, coming out onto wooden bridge, you will see a 90 degree turn with a speedup pad after it. In the corner, off the track on the right is the C. You have to jump into the corner and land on the other side of the turn to nab it, it's not too hard. T: On the final big jump near the end, you have to jump to the right good and nab the T. R. At the big jump near the start, jump to the right to nab the R. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.4.2: N. Gin Labs@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you Need: Open Already N. Gin Labs is an industrial environment that seems to have toxic materials flooding the bottom. Watch out near the track with the rolling toxic barrels, as there are speedup pads in their path. Take one when a barrel is not there and quickly get out of the way. Also, leave traps at the boost tunnel. They always hit. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 70 Sapphire: 2:15:00 Gold: 1:34:00 Platinum: 0:53:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Blue C: This is tough. At the first big jump, there is the C in mid-air to the left. What makes it so hard is that it is so high up. Make a good jump or you will miss it. T: At the last big jump. After jumping down, there will be holes in the road, with the T right at the edge of the first one. Jump and nab it, and get back on the road. R: At the second big jump. The R is right there in mid-air. It is not really hard to nab it, so nab it. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.4.3: Hot Air Skyway@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 14 Trophies Hot Air Skyway is literally a skyway. It is a road that is held up in the sky by hot air blimps. If you couldn't guess, this race can be tough, with many turns, big jumps and lack of walls. Pay attention here for you will be racing Pinstripe here. SHORTCUTS: -Take the right lane at the first big jump. You have to jump good or you will fall. -A bit harder. After the big jump, keep going until you find a wall seperating two roads. Right after that is a downhill section. Now, when you go downhill, TURN AROUND, and jump off the top of the downhill section, and jump over the wall. If done right, you will have a gigantic lead and lots of time off your hands. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 56 Sapphire: 3:05:00 Gold: 2:34:00 Platinum: 2:02:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Yellow C: At the spiral part of the road leading into the first big jump. Stay as close as possible to the right wall and you should nab the C. T: At the last big jump, the T is off to the right in mid-air. Nab it. R: At the first big jump, the R is to the right. Jump and nab it. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.4.4: Oxide Station@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 15 Trophies Oxide Station can be tough. Oxide Station is set in, well, Oxide's space station. He's made it into his liking with lots of turns, speedup pads and big jumps. Also, halfway through, gravity seems to leave you alone, making your jumps high. Leave traps at where there are machinery narrowing the track. Pay attention as you have to race Oxide here. Good luck. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 49 Sapphire: 3:14:00 Gold: 2:56:00 Platinum: 2:34:00 CTR Challenge Token Color: Yellow C: At the first big jump. Jump and nab it, it's not hard. T: At the second big jumps out in space. At the second one, jump as best as you can and nab the T. R: At the final big jump, you need to do the best jump you can possibly do to nab the R in mid-air. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.4.5: Pinstripe's Challenge@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: All 4 Trophies in Citadel City Track you race on: Hot Air Skyway Okay, this gangster marsupial can be a nuisance. He rolls Bowling Bombs behind him a lot, and you tend to get hit right before you go into big jumps. As always, take advantage of when he is not attacking and blast him with a missle. Try not to stay behind him or you'll regret it. Good Luck. When you win, he forks over the key happily.[/sarcasm] %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.4.6: Nitro Court@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: 4 Boss Keys Time: 2:00:00 This can be very easy. There are both TNT's and NITRO's blocking the crystals. Now, you REALLY need to hit them with a bowling bomb, which you can get from the crates here, as you cannot simply drive around the explosive crates to get the crystal. But you have a lot of time to do this, so don't fret. Start from the outermost area and work your way in. You should get this on your first or second try. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.5: Hub 5: Gemstone Valley@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% The area in where N. Oxide's ship landed. Gemstone Valley isn't all that interesting. You have the Gem Cups, tracks that don't have a trophy or a token, and you have N. Oxide's Challenge. ----------------------------------------------------------------- I'll give the walktrough from where you go in from N. Sanity Beach: In front of you is Slide Coloseum and Turbo Track. Go right, and keep going to find the load/save screen. Keep going and find N. Oxide's ship with N. Oxide's Challenge in it. Go on and find the door to The Lost Ruins. Go and also find the door to the Gem Cups. Keep going and find the Winner's Circle. Keep going to be back at the start. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.5.1: The Gem Cups@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Yes, see CTR Tokens in the basics to find out about the gem cups. I will name the cup, the tracks, and the unlockable character. Red Gem Cup What you need: 4 Red CTR Tokens Crash Cove, Mystery Caves, Blizzard Bluff, Papu's Pyramid Who You Unlock: Ripper Roo Green Gem Cup What you need: 4 Green CTR Tokens Roo's Tubes, Coco Park, Polar Pass, Cortex Castle Who You Unlock: Papu Papu Blue Gem Cup What you need: 4 Blue CTR Tokens Sewer Speedway, Tiger Temple, Dragon Mines, N. Gin Labs Who You Unlock: Komodo Joe Yellow Gem Cup What you need: 4 Yellow CTR Tokens Dingo Canyon, Tiny Arena, Hot Air Skyway, Oxide Station Who You Unlock: Pinstripe Potoroo Purple Gem Cup What you need: 4 Purple CTR Tokens Roo's Tubes, Papu's Pyramid, Dragon Mines, Hot Air Skyway Who You Unlock: Fake Crash Oh, by the way, in the purple gem cup, you don't race the normal racers, instead, you race all 4 bosses. Yup, Ripper Roo, Papu Papu, K. Joe and Pinstripe. But they do not have unlimited weapons, yay. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.5.2: Slide Coloseum@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What You Need: 10 Relics Slide Coloseum is a pretty easy track. Lots of small turns, and absolutely no speedup pads. Oh, and the only thing you can get here is a relic. There's not much more to say. SHORTCUTS There are tons of shortcuts that you can jump over tires and cutting corners. They are pretty easy to see, so i won't tell them. Find them yourselves. RELIC TIMES Time Crates: 45 Sapphire: 1:55:00 Gold: 1:45:00 Platinum: 1:40:00 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.5.3: Turbo Track@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What You Need: 5 Gems Another easy track. With lots of speedup pads that make you go faster than regular speedpads. This track is also another only relic one. And i'm bugged that it looks exactly like Slide Coloseum. Oh, well. Relic Times Time Crates: 52 Sapphire: 1:45:00 Gold: 1:32:00 Platinum: 1:19:00 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 9.5.4: N. Oxide's Challenge@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% What you need: All 4 Boss Keys and all 16 trophies Track You Race on: Oxide Station Ok, this guy can be annoying. He drops almost everything the previous bosses did, excluding Ripper Roo's TNT's. he start right before the green light, when you hit him, he only slows down. Fortunately, if you drop stuff at speedup pads and narrowed roads, he will hit them. Try hitting him early, and getting in front of him while driving fast and dropping everything you can. First, he will drop green beakers, then TNT crates that K. Joe threw, then Nitro's, backward bowling bombs, and for the rest of the track, red beakers. If you don't pass him whilst on the first lap, it will get harder and harder to pass him. Good Luck. -If you beat him without everything, you get a bad ending in where Oxide tells you to get all his Time Relics and race him again so you can prove that YOu are the fastest racer on the planet. As the credits roll, you will see all the characters do their winning dances. -If you beat him with 100%, you will see a good ending, in where Oxide goes back to his home planet Gasmoxia hurt real bad and decides to give up racing in other planets for he cannot accept losing. As the credits roll and the characters dance, text will be displayed under them, telling what happened to them later in their lives. I will tell them in Character Endings. After the credits the scrapbook is shown. -If you get all gold relics, you will get the best percentage of 101%. While the credits roll, there is confetti flying around. Not really important, but cool to see. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 10: Character Endings@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Here, i will give what the credits say about the characters, because i want to. Crash: Crash sold his life story to a major movie making company. the film entitled "The Color Orange" will be released for the christmas season. Crash can now be found on a beach down under, doing what he does best... Dancing and napping! Cortex: Cortex went back to scientific research and found a new element for the periodic table. Numerous lawsuits fail to change the name he boldly chose for element 117... CORTEXRULESTHEWORLDIUM. Tiny: Tiny moved to Beverly Hills and founded the chain of the popular Pain 'n' Gain fitness clubs. His Tiny-bo exercise video made millions of infomercials around the globe. Coco: Coco went on and made her own internet dating service. Although her company is still in the red, share prices are going through the roof! N. Gin: N. Gin opened a custom auto parts store in Toledo, Ohio. His store closed after a massive recall after his "Clear-the-road" missle system sparked havoc on the nations freeways. Polar: Polar became the taste tester for a leading ice cream company. Flavors OK'd for production include Salmon Swirl, Mackarel Mint and Squishy Squid Sundae. Dingodile: Dingodile created an animal breeding program for the creation of unique and interesting pets. His motto "Combine Them All" spurred such successes such as the Gir-bat, Kanga-rooster and the Dingo-rilla. Pura: Pura joined the Las Vegas tiger show of Zigfield and Floyd. His starring role came to a disastorous end when he closed his mouth "a bit too early". Floyd will be sadly missed. Pinstripe: Pinstripe became a used car salesman in New Jersey. As top salesman each month, he smirks, "People decide on a car much quicker once my tommy gun comes out." Papu Papu: Papu Papu joined the Wild Wrestling Association and changed his ring name to Mr. Bad Belly. His signature move, the "Bad Belly Bounce", was finally banned by the WWA after 3 wrestlers suffered severe rope friction burns. Tropy started tinkering with his time machine hobby again. He was last seen going into a time warp bubble going to some ancient rainforest. Alas, rust is timeless! N. Oxide: Oxide went back to the planet Gasmoxia a broken alien. After years of therapy, he came out of seclusion and began racing again. ...Unfortunately, the unicycle was a poor vehicle choice and his resulting accident was too gruesome to be described here. Ami(Trophy Girl): Ami became a race kart driver herself, saying, "I'm sick of giving out trophies! I want a few of my own!" Isabella(Trophy Girl): Isabella landed a bitpart in the season finale of "Baywaters". Liz(Trophy Girl): Liz posed for Bandiboy magazine, buying her dream Malibu Mansion with the earnings. Megumi(Trophy Girl): Megumi released her line of perfume called "Odecoot" which releases the alluring scent of fermented Wumpa Fruit. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 11: Other Race Modes@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Here, I will list the other race modes you find in the main menu screen. I list them in order. So... let's go! ------------------------------------------------------------- Time Trial Mode In this mode, you must race for your time. Its kinda like a Relic Race, except without the time boxes. This mode is perfect for racing practice, for there is no-one else here, If you got a satisfactory time, you can save it, and you can race it as your "ghost". This ghost does everything you did, but you can go through it. When you get a fast enough time, you will get a short speech from N. Tropy, saying that you should stop thinking your so fast, and try beating his time (or ghost in this case). He's not very difficult, but try not to get careless, or he may be speeding right by you. When you beat all his times, you will earn the right to race him. After you beat N. Tropy on that track, you can race Oxide's ghost. He is VERY difficult, for he uses shortcuts, but I managed to beat him. When you beat all his ghosts, you will get the scrapbook in the main menu. It's the scrapbook from the 100% credits, except you don't need to beat Oxide to see it. When you beat N. Tropy's ghost, a gold star appears next to the track name that you beat him in. When you beat Oxide's, a platinum star appears next to the track name. Arcade Mode In this mode, you can race against your friends, or you can quickly get into a race. It's like a trophy race, 'cept you don't get no trophy. There are two things you can choose in arcade mode, Single Mode or Cup Mode. Single mode gets you into only one race of your choice, and you can change the track anytime. In Cup Mode, you can choose 1 of 4 cups: Wumpa Cup: Crash Cove, Tiger Temple, Blizzard Bluff, Coco Park Crystal Cup: Roo's Tubes, Dingo Canyon, Dragon Mines, Sewer Speedway Nitro Cup: Mystery Caves, Papu's Pyramid, Cortex Castle, Tiny Arena Crash Cup: Polar Pass, N. Gin Labs, Hot Air Skyway, Slide Coliseum You will notice that the only difficulty setting available is "Easy". So... Finish the 4 cups in Easy mode to unlock a new arena for battle mode, and also... the next difficulty setting, Medium! Beat the 4 cups in Medium mode to unlock yet another arena an the final difficulty mode! Beat the 4 cups once again in Hard mode to unlock the last arena! What you get for beating Easy mode is the arena Parking lot. For beating Medium you get Lab Basement. And for Hard, The North Bowl. When you beat a cup in Easy mode, a blue star appears next to it. If you beat one in Medium, a gold star appears next to it. And for Hard, a platinum star appears next to it. VS. Mode Just like Arcade mode, however, there are no computer controlled racers. Just you and your friends. Battle Mode Battle it out with your friends in all the battle arenas. Everything can be customized. You can even choose what weapons you want in battle(me and my friend once had a power shield war. It was hilarious). You'll love this mode! %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @Part 14: Legal Stuff@ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Don't dare rip this off and claim that you made it.
