Description

Icons shaped like a character's face can often be found in secret spots and certain crates. The most common icons are the Crash ones, which are worth extra lives (though these sometimes change to reflect the player character, such as Coco, Cortex, or Nina).

The first Crash Bandicoot game contains Tawna, Nitrus Brio, and Cortex icons, which warp Crash to a bonus stage upon collecting 3 of a kind.
