Ernest (voiced by Alex Fernandez) is a simple emu farmer who lives in a small barn in N. Sanity Island. A friend of Crash Bandicoot's, he raises farm animals and has a Wumpa orchard of his own, which is prone to getting infested with large worms.

Farmer Ernest is a parody of non-playable characters who offer the player prizes in return for completing their side-quests. Rather than taking his request, Cortex simply zaps Ernest and takes the crystal he promised, which further adds to the joke.
