Hasty

Profile

  • Species: Moose (Alces Alces)
  • Gender: Male
  • Alignment: Good

Description

An aviator moose is not something you see every day, but Hasty fits the bill and he'll make sure you know it. He's a somewhat vain pilot to be sure, but his charisma is hard to ignore.

Trivia

  • Hasty's genesis as a character was a convoluted process that had its roots in a character design by Bob Rafei, one of the artists for CTR. A common fan misconception was that one of his characters, Trippo, was an unused hippo character in CTR, which eventually led Beenox Entertainment to add him to the remake, Nitro-Fueled. For some reason, fans started calling this character Fasty, and references to that name can be found in the game's original, unpatched code (though they were removed early on). After the developers realized Trippo was not, in fact, a Crash Bandicoot character, they hastily (hur hur) turned the character into a moose and changed his name, just in time for Christmas. You can find out more about this amusingly silly tale here.
  • The biplane logo on his jacket uses the same artwork as Barnstorming, a 1982 Atari 2600 video game published by Activision.
