General Trivia

  • Crash of the Titans was nominated for a Writer's Guild Award and 2 Elan Awards (Best Sound Design and Best Character).
  • This was the first Crash Bandicoot game to not be released in Japan.
  • A provisory name for this game was Crash Jackin'. This was changed to avoid inappropriate associations.
  • The game was considered a reboot early in development. At some point it was changed to a soft reboot, keeping its ties with the preceding games while making several changes and retcons.
  • The flag on top of Coco's house is a reference to the Canadian flag, only with the Crash paw print icon instead of the maple leaf. Radical Entertainment is a Canadian studio.
  • The statue of Cortex in "War of the Whirls" has Cortex's classic design.


  • A remix of the main theme from Crash 3 was going to be featured in the game. It's still present in the game's data but remains unused.

Provisory Names

  • Foxfeather was renamed to Parafox before being renamed to Snipe.
  • Grizzly was renamed to Goar.
  • Roller became Rhinoroller.
  • Shurtle was the early name for Magmadon.
  • Stinky was later called Stench for the game's release.
  • Chiratta was the Ratnician's original name.
  • Spiderbot came to be known as Arachnina.


  • The game's title is a pun on the movie Clash of the Titans.
  • The title of the first episode, A New Hop, is a pun on A New Hope, a Star Wars movie. Additionally, Uka Uka says "A tremor in the Mojo! The last time I felt it was in the presence of my older brother, Aku Aku.", which is a reference to one of Darth Vader's lines in this movie: "A tremor in the Force. The last time I felt it, was in the presence of my old master.".
  • There are many references to The Wizard of Oz. The book's title is parodied with The Blizzard of Claws. There is a level called The Emerald Pity, a pun on The Emerald City. Don't Eat the Yellow Brick Load refers to the line "Follow the yellow brick road", and the Doom Monkeys sometimes say "I'm melting! I'm melting! Oh, what a world, what a world!" which is said by the Wicked Witch of the West as she dies.
  • Doom Monkeys sometimes scream "LEEEEEROOOOYYY!!" while charging at Crash, a reference to the infamous World of Warcraft player and Internet phenomenon, Leroy Jenkins.
  • N. Gin sometimes sings the Doom Song from the animated show Invader Zim.
  • After being defeated, some Doom Monkeys say "Two more will take my place!", which was first said by an executive in The Simpsons. Doom Monkeys also sometimes say "D'oh!", Homer Simpson's famous annoyed grunt.
  • Sometimes Doom Monkeys will quote the song The End by The Doors upon defeat.
  • The Voodoo Bunnies' in-game description parodies Gizmo from the movie Gremlins.
  • One of the Mojo Rooms is named Smells Like Green Spirits, a reference to the song Smells Like Teen Spirit.
  • Crash's tantrum when he spots N. Gin's statue is a parody the ending in the original Planet of the Apes movie, where Taylor curses upon discovering the Statue of Liberty.
  • Ratnicians sometimes say "You'd think he was an Italian plumber or something.", a reference to Super Mario.
  • The episode named "Minority Rapport" gets is name from the movie Minority Report.
  • The "Doomraker" episode's name is a pun on a James Bond novel/movie named Moonraker.
  • Some Ratnicians say "He's like Flubber, the mystery stuff!", a reference to the 'flubber' substance in the eponymous film.
  • Voodoo Bunnies often yell "FREEDOM!", a famous quote from the movie Braveheart.
  • After defeated, Ratnicians sometimes say "Danger, Will Robinson!", a frequent line uttered by the Robot in the show Lost in Space.
  • The Ratnicians sometimes scream "KHAAAAN!!", just like Admiral James Kirk in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
  • The Temple of Zoom is a pun on the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
  • N. Gin sometimes says "I could be on Cyborg Idol, if that show existed.", a reference to the show Pop Idol.
  • Doom Monkeys sometimes say "There is no spoon.", which is a quote from the movie What Is the Matrix?.
  • One Brat Girl says to another that she should film herself defeating Crash and put the video on MySpace.
  • Koo-alas, the hillbillies in this game, sometimes say "You've got a purdy mouth, boy.", just like one of the hillbillies in the movie Deliverance.
  • Doom Monkeys sometimes say "Mortal Kombat!" in reference to the video-game. They also say "FINISH HIM!".
  • Some Ratnicians say "Barnacles!", an interjection commonly used by Spongebob Squarepant in his eponymous show.
  • The scene with N. Gin talking to himself as if he were 2 different people is a parody of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.
  • The episode name War of the Whirls is a pun on the novel/movie The War of the Worlds.
  • The title A Sludge too Far is a pun on the novel/movie A Bridge Too Far.
  • Calamity Ville Horror is a pun on the book named Amityville Horror.
  • "Operation Overboard" is a pun of Operation Overlord, the Allies' plan to storm France via beaches and parachute drops and liberate it from the Axis Forces.
  • Shock and Awesome references the military code Shock and Awe.
  • There is a parody of the Scarface mansion in the episode War of the Whirls, complete with a statue of Cortex holding the world (instead of Atlas).
  • Cortex playing a piano with a candelabrum on it is a reference to Wladziu Valentino Liberace, who was an American pianist. A second reference to him occurs when N.Gin says "I wish my brother George was here", just like Liberace would do in reference to his older brother, who was also his business partner.
  • The initial layout in Revengeance 2: The Revengicide is a reference to the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong, with slanted platforms and a gorilla (or rather, Scorporilla) on top.
