Описание

A Crash Bandicoot lookalike with a huge nose, eyebrows, and teeth. As his name implies, Fake Crash is a Crash Bandicoot lookalike with a few features that set him apart from the real deal. He noticeably has a much bigger nose, eyebrows, and teeth than Crash, as well as a decidedly goofier voice and personality. He shares Crash's fondness for dancing, but... let's just say he's not going to win any contests soon.

The purpose of his existence as a genetically modified bandicoot is unclear, but it's possible that he was created by Cortex as a contender for leading his mutant animals, much like Crash was originally planned to. Fake Crash tends to appear unexpectedly in random places.

His similarity to Crash has caused him to be accidentally abducted and brainwashed by N. Trance before, effectively ruining his and N. Tropy's plans after they failed to tell the difference. After Crash knocked him back into his senses, the two bandicoots worked together to defeat N. Trance.

This wouldn't be the last time he inadvertently put a stop to an evil plan, as his bumbling behavior led to him hijacking Cortex's Matrix Chamber during the great Synchronization Celebration. This, in turn, resulted in his awful dancing inside the machine generating bad vibes all over the Wumpa Islands, which would have broken them apart if not for Crash and Cortex's efforts.

Интересные факты

  • Fake Crash was originally a joke character who appeared in random places, and he had no bearing to the plot. He was originally developed for the Japanese TV ad campaign for Crash Bandicoot 2, having become very popular there.
  • His first actual appearance in a game was in Crash Bandicoot 3, where he is hidden in several places as an easter egg, dancing out of reach in the levels Toad Village, Makin' Waves, and (in the PAL version) Hog Ride.
  • Besides his playable appearances in Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart, Fake Crash is also a secret character in the Japanese version of Crash Bash. He is unlocked through a cheat code and is the only neutral character in the game. He plays exactly like Crash but can't be used in Adventure Mode.
  • Fake Crash's alignment varies greatly between games. He is protected by Uka Uka in Crash Team Racing (indicating he's evil), he's the only neutral character in the Japanese version of Crash Bash, and he's good in N-Tranced and Crash Nitro Kart. Whenever he's relevant to the plot, he's usually treated as ambiguously neutral.
  • In the handheld version of Crash Nitro Kart, he can be seen lost in the desert from Out of Time. If you find him, he'll become a playable character and thank you (the only time he's ever spoken in full English).
  • In Crash Bandicoot Purple/Fusion, he can be seen chained to a wall in a secret room of the Dragon Castles.
  • Fake Crash is referenced in the Dansu! De Jump! Na Daibouken manga, where Cortex dons a Crash Bandicoot disguise that looks exactly like Fake Crash.

The original design. Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced uses a slight variation of this design where Fake Crash's eyebrows are wing-shaped.

Crash Nitro Kart, Purple

Озвучен(на): Dwight Schultz

Fake Crash's eyebrows are wing-shaped, and his teeth aren't spiky anymore. His frontal fur is lighter in color and connected to his muzzle, and he's traded his blue pants for green ones. His navel is also much smaller.
