Pinstripe (a.k.a. Don Pinstripelli Potorotti) is the cunning, trigger-happy don of the potoroo mafia originally serving under Dr. Neo Cortex. After being subjected to one too many gangster flicks in a Cortex Vortex hypnotherapy session, he came out with an accent and fashion sense befitting a fancy Italian mob leader. Despite not being physically powerful, he's got the wits and skills to let him bargain his way out of a pickle. That and a fully loaded tommy gun.

The supplementary reading material in Japan (such as the manual for Crash Bandicoot 2) proposes an additional story event for Pinstripe not adopted in other regions. It explains that Tawna left Crash for Pinstripe between the events of the first two games, once again proving that, in nature, the marsupial who dresses better is destined to become the alpha male.

The original design.
Crash Team Racing
Though the original design was kept, Pinstripe is now more detailed. An even more detailed model is used in cutscenes. The low-poly model used in races actually has pinstripes on his suit.
Crash Twinsanity
The most notable difference about Pinstripe is his new suit, which is now black and actually pinstriped to match his name and original concept art (though the 3D model used in CTR races was still the first with that distinction). His ears and nose are larger, and he's wearing a few rings on his fingers. The 3D model is also toothless, but that's probably because he never opens his mouth in this game, so perhaps the developers simply didn't want to waste time on his teeth. Like every other major Twinsanity charater, he has five-fingered hands.
