N. Trance is a hypnotist from the 5th Dimension and a friend of Dr. Nefarious Tropy. Since he is shaped like an egg, he usually sits precariously in a robotic body that he presumably controls with his mind. The body sometimes has a right arm with a clock for a hand, and without the extra weight of its detachable limbs, it's also able to fly using jet propulsion.
N. Trance shares other connections with eggs besides his appearance. He claims to leak when he's feeling upset, and he enjoys making egg-based puns and jokes on occasion. His hypnotism methods tend to vary, as he's been shown to control people's minds with and without specially designed helmets.

N. Trance was initially planned to appear in Crash Twinsanity along with the other villains after the treasure. At one point, Evil Crash would try to eat his brain with a spoon as if he were an egg, making N. Trance wear a plaster over his eye for the rest of the game.

N. Trance now has a nose and a regular right hand where the clock used to be. His irises are much bigger, but both eyes are more similar in size to each other. The spiral on his armor is more angular and has different colors, as do his legs, now purple instead of blue.
