R. M. Albon says: Twin Technology was quite important to me as an artist. I wanted a theme, a design continuity running through all the Twin Tech in the game. Sadly, the Twins did not play as large a part in the game as we all had wanted but game design changes as it goes on and many ideas would be scrapped for newer and probably better ones.

R. M. Albon says: Here are some more examples of the Twin Tech. I was inspired by the film ID4. I thought the alien technology had a strong identity of its own and wanted our Twin Tech to feel as if it were from a single world.

R. M. Albon says: The Ants. These were the warrior ants that were built by the Twins. I think these were the first final designs done for the Ant warriors of the Twin Army. Genetically enhanced from a race of gentle giant ants, these creatures came in small, medium and dangerously large sizes.

R. M. Albon says: This is where the Ants were to build there armies using the collected power of... wampa. See, its starting to fit together :) The Twins were here to dominate the planet and they found that wampa was the perfect power source.

These refinaries were going to be clean and lowly lit. Ant patrols marched around them, keeping the precious wampa from prying bandicoot hands. I think that these would have made a good contrasting level to the organic terrain levels and Cortex's dirty industrial levels.
