There are references to an unused character called Fasty in the code. Fasty is a fan-made name for what many assumed was a removed CTR character: a blue hippo in a pilot outfit. His actual name was Trippo, and he had nothing to do with CTR. The Crash Mania article that explains this was published just before the game's release, so it was likely the catalyst for his removal. All mentions of him in the code were removed in version 1.02, ironically turning him into an actual removed CTR character in the end.

There are 3D models included in the base code for Ami and Megumi that are closer in appearance to their original 1999 designs. Not only do their faces feature different proportions, but Ami is also rocking her classic hairstyle.
